Research Project – Africa
This is a scientific project led by Dugga and partners with the aim to contribute to the domain of CSR by transforming the digital ecosystem of schools in developing regions lacking the resources and possibilities to provide modern education.

– To contribute to the democratization of education and schools
– To improve learning outcomes and quality of learning in line with the United Nations Sustainability Goals

While Sub-Saharan Africa made the greatest progress in primary school enrollment among all developing regions – from 52 percent in 1990 to 78 percent in 2012 – large disparities still remain. Children from the poorest households are up to four times more likely to be out of school than those of the richest households. Disparities between rural and urban areas also remain high.
Achieving inclusive and quality education for all reaffirms that education is one of the most powerful and proven vehicles for sustainable development. The United Nations Sustainable Development goal for Quality education aims to ensure that all children complete free primary and secondary schooling by 2030. It also aims to provide equal access to affordable vocational training, to eliminate gender and wealth disparities, and to obtain universal access to higher education of good quality. Simply put, equal opportunities for all individuals in the world.
Educational challenges on the slopes of Kilimanjaro
On the slopes of Kilimanjaro lies Mnini Secondary School. The co-founders of Dugga have previously been involved in fundraising projects that have contributed to water distribution of the village and the rebuilding of the school.
To be able to take the next steps in becoming a truly modern school there are a few challenges ahead and Dugga, together with key partners, aim to build a coalition of innovative tech partners with the purpose to provide a modern digital ecosystem for education on behalf of Mnini Secondary School.
The Mnini Community
Located along the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Uru East Ward, Hai Mashariki Division, Moshi District Council in Kilimanjaro Region. The Project area lies between 316250E to 319130E of Greenwich Meridian and between 9634750N to 9638835N of the Equator. The altitude of the area ranges from 1200m to 980m above mean sea level (a.m.s.l), along the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Dugga is committed to doing its part to contribute to the democratization of quality education in the world.
The Mnini Secondary School is set to undergo a complete transformation to a Modern Fully Digitalized Showcase school.
INFRASTRUCTURE CHALLENGES
- To provide an additional electricity source, due to an unreliable grid, in the form of an installation of solar panels together with a storage battery package for on-premises installation.
- Due to a lack of reliable Internet in the area there is a need for Satellite powered Internet as well as routers for distribution.
- Lack of computer devices.
