Dugga is used every day by thousands of teachers worldwide for quizzes, tests and national exams. The platform was developed by educators and grounded in academic research, and it enhances every stage of the assessment journey, from creation to grading.

What the research measured

New independent research at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) shows that Dugga can improve students' learning outcomes as well as save teachers time. With more than 14,000 students from over 100 countries, SAIT is among the oldest and most renowned Canadian polytechnics, and its vision is to be a global leader in applied education and tech-based skills training. To find the best solution for delivering online assessments, a research project was developed at SAIT, and after mapping the market for alternative solutions its focus was set on Dugga.

The study started in fall 2021. Over eight months, technical students stationed in ten countries took part in a series of thirty-three assessments to test the practical potential of Dugga in education.

  • +10% better grades
  • +60% improved wellbeing
  • +75% knowledge retention
  • +98% time saved on routine marking

Why it matters for exam coordinators

With Dugga, educators can save time through seamless processes including auto-grading and customized question or test generation, while enhancing student knowledge retention.

“The results confirmed an outstanding ability of the Dugga Platform to improve students' subject-matter retention by 75%, reduce their stress factor by 60%, and a 10% improvement of the class average grades was documented. Further, there was a clear reduction of exam-related stress and improved well-being.”

A summary of the students' anonymous feedback showed that more than 96% were strongly satisfied or satisfied with their Dugga experience.

“We believe that we can dramatically improve quality and equality in education by transforming learning assessment.”
